Is SastaTrade free to use?
Yes — posting a listing, browsing, and messaging sellers are all free. There's no fee to buy or sell on SastaTrade.
How do I post a listing?
Sign in, tap "Post an Ad," choose a category, add photos and a description, and submit. Every listing is reviewed by a person before it goes live, usually within a short time.
Why does my listing need to be reviewed before it's visible?
Every ad is checked by a human before it's published — nothing goes live automatically. This keeps spam and fake listings off the site.
Do I need to verify my phone number?
It's not required to post, but verifying your phone adds a trust badge to your profile that buyers notice. An unverified number is always shown clearly as "not verified" so buyers know either way.
How do I contact a seller?
Each listing shows whichever contact methods the seller chose to display — phone/WhatsApp, email, or other links. You contact them directly; there's no in-app chat holding the conversation hostage.
What areas does SastaTrade cover?
SastaTrade is focused on Chicago and the surrounding suburbs — listings are organized by neighborhood so you can find things posted near you.
What can I post on SastaTrade?
Roommates and sublets, used cars, local jobs, services, items for sale, and more — browse the category list on the homepage for the full range.
How do I stay safe buying or selling in person?
Meet in public places for in-person exchanges, don't send money before seeing an item, and trust your judgment if something feels off. See the Trust & Safety page for more.
How do I report a listing or a user?
Every listing has a report option — use it for anything that looks fake, scammy, or against the rules. Reports go straight to the admin team for review.
Can I edit or delete a listing after posting it?
Yes — manage your listings from "My Listings" in your account. Edits go live right away; deleting a listing removes it immediately.
Can I sign in with Google instead of a password?
Yes — Google sign-in is supported, and an email/password account can be linked to Google afterward from Account Settings.
